On November 25, 2009, the CRD Core Area Liquid Waste Management Committee voted to amendment their Core Area Liquid Waste Management Plan. This amendment put enough treatment detail in the plan to clear the way for the CRD to submit a full funding proposal to the federal government.

There was unanimous recognition that the plan is not perfect, all but two of the directors were willing to move it forward as a 'work-in-progress'. The majority committed to seek out opportunities to improve the plan as it moves forward.
